Since its inception in 1992, Dr. Del Negro has been President and Managing Partner of Del Negro & Senft Eye Associates. After receiving an undergraduate degree from Lafayette College, Dr. Del Negro earned his medical degree from the University of Medicine & Dentistry of New Jersey – School of Osteopathic Medicine. He specialized in Ophthalmology by completing residency training at Ohio University – Grandview Hospital and fellowship training in glaucoma at the University of Louisville. Dr. Del Negro is a board-certified eye physician and surgeon.
Dr. Del Negro has extensive experience in the most advanced microsurgical techniques for treating cataracts, glaucoma and corneal disease. A skilled laser cataract surgeon, he also performs laser procedures to treat medical eye diseases, such as glaucoma, diabetes, vascular conditions, and secondary cataracts.
A member of several Ophthalmology societies, Dr. Del Negro serves on the Board of Examiners for the Osteopathic College of Ophthalmology. He is Chief of Ophthalmology at Hackensack Meridian Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Monmouth County and Vice Chair of Ophthalmology at Hackensack Meridian School of Medicine.

Dr. Senft graduated from Duke University with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1989. He went on to complete a Masters in Science in Human Nutrition at Columbia University before attending Wake Forest University School of Medicine, where he received his MD in 1995.
Dr. Senft then began his ophthalmology training at SUMMA Health System in Akron, Ohio, where he served as Chief Resident during his senior year. Following this, he was accepted to the Louisiana State University Eye Center as a cornea fellow under the direction of Dr. Herbert Kaufmann, a pioneer in the field of corneal transplantation, advanced cataract surgery, and refractive surgery. While at LSU, Dr. Senft received a Fight For Sight grant to perform research in his chosen field.
A Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, Dr. Senft is a board-certified eye physician and surgeon. He is also an associate professor at Hackensack Meridian Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Monmouth County. He specializes in advanced cataract surgery, corneal surgery, external eye diseases, and refractive surgery.

Dr. Shah chose to pursue a career in optometry directly following high school. After being accepted to a joint program with The College of New Jersey and SUNY College of Optometry, Dr. Shah completed her undergraduate degree in Biology in 3 years and had direct admission into SUNY Optometry which she graduated from in 2009. She completed an optometry externship at Omni Eye Services in NJ, a tertiary care center, where she focused on pre- and post-operative care for glaucoma, cataracts, retinal repair, and refractive surgery. In addition she concluded an externship at New Jersey Veteran Administration Hospital where she provided both treatment and management of macular degeneration, glaucoma, cataracts, and various retinal diseases, as well as primary eye care in a hospital setting.
She completed residency training in Ocular Disease & Primary Care at the Veteran’s Administration Hospital in Montrose, NY, emphasizing the treatment and management of ocular diseases in a multi-disciplinary, hospital-based setting. During her residency, fellow optometrists received credits for attending Dr. Shah’s continuing education lectures. Furthermore, while completing her residency, she presented numerous research posters at both the American Academy of Optometry and American Optometric Association’s annual meetings.
Dr. Shah currently performs routine eye exams and contact lens fittings in conjunction with assisting Drs. Del Negro and Senft with post-op surgical care. Dr. Shah treats patients in our Neptune location.
Dr. Carniglia completed her undergraduate degree at Washington University in St. Louis, with a BA in Biology and a minor in Business Administration. She returned to the East Coast to attend SUNY College of Optometry, where she earned her Doctor of Optometry and completed her Residency in Binocular Vision and Pediatrics. Dr. Carniglia divided her time between clinical teaching at SUNY College of Optometry and private practice. She had her own practice on Park Avenue in Manhattan from 2005 to 2017.
Dr. Carniglia joined Del Negro & Senft Eye Associates in 2018 with 30 years’ experience as an Optometrist in New York City. Throughout her career, she has focused on comprehensive eye care, binocular vision, pre- and post-operative management of cataracts, corneal, and refractive surgery as well as emergency eye care. In addition, she performed contact lens fittings with astigmatic, multifocal, and rigid gas permeable lenses. Dr. Carniglia uses the latest technology to halt the progression of nearsightedness in children and young adults.
Dr. Carniglia served on the Board of Directors for the NY Academy of Optometry for 12 years, was on the Advisory Board of TLC Laser Eye Center in Manhattan for two years, and is a member of the American Academy of Optometry. In addition, she is a recipient of both the Fred Brock Memorial Vision Therapy Award and the Bausch and Lomb Award for Excellence in Contact Lenses.
Currently, Dr. Carniglia performs comprehensive eye exams, contact lens fittings, and manages ocular diseases. She provides emergency eye care and co-manages surgical patients with Drs. Del Negro and Senft. She works in our Brick and Red Bank locations.
Gabrielle A. Tull-Lewis, OD, MPH began her academic career at Georgian Court University in Lakewood, NJ, where she completed her undergraduate degree in Biology. Her passion for optometry developed while working as an ophthalmic technician at both Del Negro & Senft Eye Associates in NJ and Wills Eye Hospital in PA.
Driven by her commitment to patient-centered care, she pursued her Master of Public Health degree, with a concentration in Healthcare Quality and Safety, at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, PA. She went on to earn her Doctor of Optometry degree from Salus University (now affiliated with Drexel University) in Elkins Park, PA.
Dr. Tull-Lewis completed her residency at the New Jersey Veteran Affairs Healthcare System with a special emphasis in ocular disease and low vision. At the VA, she gained extensive experience in diagnosing, treating, and co-managing a wide range of ocular conditions including glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, and cataracts. Joining Del Negro & Senft Eye Associates as an optometrist in 2025, she continues to treat the above conditions in addition to assisting Drs. Del Negro & Senft with post-op surgical care and offering general eye exams, contact lens fittings, and emergency appointments.
During her residency, she presented at the national conference for the American Academy of Optometry and gave a continuing education lecture at SUNY College of Optometry to fellow optometrists.
