What Frames Are Best For Your Face Shape?

The wide variety of eyeglass frames available at our optical shop gives you many options, but making a decision can be difficult. Your “best fit” frame is just waiting for you to find it...somewhere in that dazzling array, and we can help you find a flattering style that fits your personality and lifestyle!

Consider the SHAPE of your face

Other considerations when picking your new frames:

Click on a topic below to learn more information.

Consider the size of your nose in proportion to your face

If your nose is SMALL…

Light-colored frames will make it look longer.

If your nose is LARGE…

A small frame will make it look even larger, so look for larger-than-average styles.

If your nose is LONG…

Ask us to direct you to styles that tend to draw attention up to the forehead and temples.

Consider your skin tone and hair color

Does your skin have a warm BRONZED, PEACH or GOLDEN tone?

Gravitate toward brown, gold, copper, tortoise-shell, coral and red frames.

Does your skin have a cool PINK tone?

Consider black, pink, blue, lavender or silver frames.

Are you LIGHT-SKINNED?

Light shades of color will probably be more flattering than darker shades.

Are you DARK-SKINNED?

You should be able to handle richer, brighter shades of color.

If your hair has a COOL shade of color…

As with cool skin tones, consider black, pink, blue, lavender or silver frames.

If your hair has a WARM color…

As with warm skin tones, consider brown, gold, copper, tortoise-shell, coral and red frames.

Consider your eye color

Is eye color important to you? If it is, make sure that the color of the frame doesn’t upstage the color of your eyes.

Take a look in your closet

Does a particular COLOR PALLETTE dominate your wardrobe?

Keep it in mind when you choose a frame color.

Have NEUTRAL COLORS, like beige, taupe, brown, grey or black taken over your closet?

A colorful frame may be just what you need to brighten up your look!

Your wardrobe probably consists of clothing appropriate for a variety of occasions and activities.  Why not have a wardrobe of eyeglasses, too?

Consider your personality and lifestyle

Are you into SPORTS ?

Ask us about sports frames and lenses that are durable and provide appropriate protection for your eyes. The variety of special features now available may surprise you!

How much time do you spend using a COMPUTER?

If you spend hours a day looking at a computer monitor, a frame that will accommodate larger-than-average lenses may make that view a little easier on the eyes.

Are you a “FASHIONISTA”?

If fashion is an important part of your life, you will want to take a look at our collection of the latest designer frames before making your decision.

Consider the material of the frame

Consider how the MATERIAL of the frame affects its style, durability, and quality...and your COMFORT.

What are the advantages of choosing a PLASTIC frame?

Plastic makes it possible to offer the colorful, textured or patterned frames many of us like. For the most part, high-quality plastic frames are sturdy but lightweight. The low-quality plastics used in the manufacture of “bargain” glasses sold by discount optical outlets are often less durable. As with many other purchases, you usually get what you pay for, which makes it important to deal with an optical shop that will stand by the quality of the frames it sells.

What about METAL frames?

If you want lightweight durability, take a look at our selection of metal frames. Titanium and stainless steel are hypoallergenic and particularly light but strong. If you require thick lenses, you should consider a titanium frame. Some people like the additional comfort of the nose pads available with a metal frame.
